Meet Nurse Amy, Your Cancer Care Advocate

With over 20 years of experience as an oncology-certified nurse, I have had the privilege of supporting cancer patients throughout every stage of their journey.. My nursing career started in pediatric oncology, where I helped to care for children and their families. Through working in the pediatric field, I saw the impact a cancer diagnosis can have on a family, which gave me a deeper understanding of the emotional and physical challenges that come with the diagnosis. I developed a strong sense of compassion and the desire to offer personalized cancer advocacy to help guide each patient through their own experience.
I soon transitioned to working with adult patients, in which I expanded my area of study to include a wide range of cancer diagnoses and treatment plans. I focused on learning how to educate patients about their diagnosis, the different treatment options, and how to manage any side effects. This direct, individualized care allowed me to walk alongside each patient and their family during their cancer journey. In doing this, I have seen firsthand how important it is for a patient to fully understand their diagnosis and the treatment options. This knowledge helps them to better advocate for their own care.
As my nursing career continued, I then transitioned to the role of a nurse educator, where I supported patients who were beginning new therapies. My goal was to ensure they felt confident managing their self-care at home and had access to the information they needed. In this role, I also trained other healthcare professionals on how to improve the quality of care and communication they provide. I saw firsthand how powerful patient education is in improving outcomes and helping people make empowered decisions about their care.
Throughout every phase of my career—as a pediatric nurse, adult oncology nurse, and educator—I’ve gained the tools and perspective that led me to become a Cancer Care Advocate.

Why I Started Cancer Care Advocacy
The inspiration behind starting my own Cancer Care Advocacy business came from the desire to dedicate more time to each patient and their family to ensure they feel truly heard, supported, and confident in advocating for themselves. In traditional healthcare settings, time is often limited, and cancer patients may not have the space to ask important questions or receive the clarity they need about their diagnosis and treatment options.
I created this practice to offer personalized, one-on-one cancer support—a space where patients and caregivers can feel safe, informed, and cared for. Every service I provide is focused entirely on your unique needs, from treatment planning guidance to emotional support during cancer care.
For me, being an oncology nurse is not just a job - it's my calling. I am deeply committed to helping each patient navigate their cancer care with the information, resources, and support they need. It is my goal to ensure that each patient never feels alone and that they feel empowered to take control of their diagnosis and receive the care they deserve.
